    Vào năm 799 tại vùng LOMBARDIE có một sử gia tên Paul Diacre đã viêt 1 bản thánh vịnh để ca tụng thánh JEAN BAPTISTE của đạo thiên chúa như sau: UT queant laxis REsonare fibris MIra getostorum FAmuli tuo'rum SOLve polluti LAbii rea'tum Sancte Joa'nnes Một tu sĩ người đất TOSCANE (Ý) tên là GUIDO ( GUI D'AREZZO) ( Mất năm 1050), đã lấy 7 âm đầu của 7 câu thơ trên đặt tên cho 7 nôt nhạc. Đến thế kỉ XVII, thấy chữ UT khó phát âm nên người ta thay nó bằng chữ DO. CÒn chữ SI là kết hợp của 2 âm đầu các chữ Sancte Joa'nes. Có người cho rằng chữ DO thay chữ UT là để nhớ ơn đấng từ phụ là ông GUIDO đã có công đã dặt tên cho 7 âm thanh mà đến bây giờ cả thế giới đang dùng DO_RE_MI_SOL_LA_SITrước thế kỷ X, để ký âm người ta dùng các mẫu tự:A(la) B(si) C(đô) D(rê) E(mi) F(pha) G(sol)Một vài nước châu Á như Trung Hoa và Nhật Bản còn dùng số để ký hiệu nốt nhạc: 1(đô) 2(rê) 3(mi) 4(fa) 5(sol) 6(la) 7(si)

    Theo thần thoại Hy Lạp, thần Apolon là vị thần phụ trách về thi ca, âm nhạc. Theo sau Apolon là 7 chị em nàng Muy- dơ , tượng trưng cho 7 nốt nhạc. 7 nàng Muy dơ có giọng hát và tiếng đàn làm say đắm lòng người.     Theo những gì em dc học,y' nghĩa của tên Do là Domination <tiếng Latin là gì quên òi, chỉ bit từ tương tự trong tiếng Anh> co' nghĩa là sự thống lĩnh.Cách ky' hiệu A-B-C-D-E-F-G tương ứng với La-Si-Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol là cách ky' hiệu của Mỹ, còn cach' ky' hiệu của Đức là C(Do)-D(Re)-E(mi)-F(Fa)-G(Sol)-A(La)-H(si),còn ky' hiệu B là nốt Si giáng. Cách ky' hiệu kiểu Đức dựa trên sự xướng âm của cac' cô gái Hy Lạp. Cac' cô ấy xướng âm rằng LA-SI giáng-DO-RE-MI-FA-SOL, vì thế sẽ tương ứng với A-B-C-D-E-F-G, nốt Si bình sinh sau đẻ muộn nên dc ky' hiệu là chữ H.@ La Paloma: đỉnh Olympe hay Olympus nhe', Olympia la` đồng bằng cơ.
